For basic audio editing, I am pretty confident in my abilities. In the past, I’ve done some video productions that involved voiceovers, so I have some skills from that. I know to monitor audio levels so I don’t peak, as well as how to use Audacity to record and cut different clips together. I can also do some basic effects, like changing pitch. For more complex stuff like high/low pass filters, compressors, etc. I don’t really know how to use them or when to use them. So, for now, fancy voice effects are off the table.

The audio clip helps present someone stuck between two different cultures, but associates more with one of them. Since I enjoy more “American” activities with friends, this becomes a divide between my parents and myself. At the same time, I still keep to Chinese culture, such as through cooking and my food preferences. However, even if I do cook Chinese food, it loses its traditional Chinese flavor when I cook it, like how I’m a blend of Chinese and American, but the longer I go in life, the more I discover I align with American values rather than Chinese ones.
