I listened to “Could you eat 93 hamburgers in 8 minutes?”, which is about how Takeru Kobayashi helped popularize competitive eating. As for a focus sentence:

Takeru Kobayashi travels to the US because he wants to compete in the 4th of July Nathan’s Hot Dog eating contest, but he encounters lots of gruff looking Americans as a small Japanese man. He still beats them, and obliterates the world record.

Reflection

Obviously, right now, we don’t know exactly what our episode’s going to be about, as we won’t know what the interviewees will say until we’ve interviewed them. However, I believe we have a good start for what information we already have. We know our overall goal: to capture how people from different cultures have reacted to the Coronavirus, and what they may have done during quarantine that helped them learn more about themselves, whether it’s a new hobby or a new passion.

Currently, we have a rough script, mostly containing questions we may want to ask and topics we may want to cover. I think it’s pretty exhaustive, in terms of the different cases we may go into on our interviews. For example, we have questions for if a person was born in the US, if they weren’t, if they’re in college, if they’re religious, etc. So, I think we have a lot of our bases covered, and have enough content for 20 minutes, especially if we interview multiple people.
